| Well, as they say in France,"Their's Paris and then there's the rest of France." A French friend of mine who lives and works here in the states tells people he left France to get away from the French. I have many friends who are French, one family that spends summers with there with their French cousins. My sisters studied there for a year a piece in high school (NOT Paris). I've spent considerable time in Paris (stopping for several days on my way to other places) and I think Paris is a beautiful and cool town (particularly the Left Bank). I even had Parisians go out of their way to be cool to me. I had a pretty good time in Paris, though I'm told by people who know a great deal more about France than you or I that the real France is to be found on the Mediterranean coast, in Burgundy and Lyon and also in the little towns in the interior. But I must say, if you've never had a French person be rude to you, you haven't met many French people. I'm sure it's makes you all warm and fuzzy to idealize something that simply doesn't exist, but it's not based in any reality. You don't know what you're talking about. Go spend some real time in France, not some little package vacation and you'll have a really good time, but you'll also experience what has come to be known as common knowledge, thus the reputation/stereotype/generalization. |

“Is there really any more fruitless activity than arguing with Creationists? Someone who willfully has chosen to believe in a fairy tale will never, ever be dissuaded by reasonable arguments or mountains of evidence. Their decisions to believe are based on emotion, not intellect.

FTA: "China is still exporting overcapacity to the rest of us on a grand scale, with deflationary consequences. "That's Keynesian code for "They're producing lots of stuff, and at low prices! The sky is falling!" Only in the delusional world of a Keynesian is it a good thing to have low production and high prices. Idiots. All I see in this article is cheap Chinese labor out-competing labor elsewhere, and the protectionists in other countries complaining that they can't adapt.

I really like Bing, but it's not really eating into Google's marketshare. As the article shows, Google's marketshare has grown; only Yahoo's has shrunk, but they're going to be using Bing for searches soon anyways. That will basically triple Microsoft's marketshare though. |
