“all well and good, if Verizon wasn't also blocking tethering on new "open app platform" smartphones as well, and planning to charge $30 a month vs. AT&T's annoucned $10 a month for the same thing, and the fact that Verizon caps their "unlimited" data plan at 5GB (with a $50/gb incremental overage charge), and also charges another $15 a month for ActiveSync access which AT&T includes free. You may say ***** AT&T, but ***** Verizon HARDER.

China has an export economy. They still don't buy enough of their own products to keep the game going without others at the table.

There are actually 10 pages, not 9, and the last page (11) is just to "restart" the slide show.

We need to stop presuming that we're going to have enough oil to power the lifestyles we have today (or that we had a couple of years ago and want to get back to). We also have to stop presuming we're just going to find some convenient substitute to use in the place of oil.Oil took millions of years of accrued solar energy to create. We've burned through about half of it in a couple hundred years. We need to start building our urban patterns and lifestyles around the assumption that we're going to be doing a lot more walking, bicycling, and taking public transit, and that those trips are going to be a lot shorter. We can't sustain suburbia, though will likely waste tremendous dwindling resources trying. |
