Somebody bring out the ASCII Quagmire....
At the time Gmail was revolutionary simply because they offered something like a Gig of storage at a time when most other free email services were only offering 10-100 MB.!

It's the same place it's always been, updated with the same features as the 32 bit versions.http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/6 ...Edit: Never mind, apparently it hasn't been refreshed yet, despite the 10.1 page suggested that it has been. Keep your eye out for it, I guess.

How many of those 1.3 billion Chinese can afford to buy an iPhone or a Sony 60" HDTV? In 2006 the average income in China was only $2025 and unemployment was over 10%. I don't see a huge market in China for the high end goods that they manufacture and sell to places like the USA. When you make only a few thousand dollars a year you're not going to have any disposable income to buy video games, digital cameras, HDTV's, DVR's, etc.If the USA suddenly shut their markets to those sorts of Chinese manufactured goods then China would be in a huge world of hurt, much more than the USA would. We could survive with HDTV's, etc. that cost twice as much because they're manufactured here. True, people would bitch & moan about the higher prices but those who don't really need the luxury simply wouldn't buy it because they can live without it. But what about the 5,000 Chinese workers at the factory where HDTV's are made? Far fewer Chinese can afford to buy HDTV's so those workers are likely to lose their jobs. Add to that the workers at the iPhone manufacturing plant, the DVR manufacturing plant, the Wii manufacturing plant, etc. and suddenly it's a huge problem for China as their unemployment skyrockets. |
