“This is actually a very good thing. Transparency catches errors like this and should be applauded. More of it needs to be done to fix problems and make sure money is not being wasted.

@ supermosesYou didn't even try to prove your point stating that the "US is the largest sponsor of terrorism". Really? And if this is your argument :"to initiate a war of aggression is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime, differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole". They initiated war on the US. They said so themselves. And need I remind you that we had no quarrel with anyone, and were a perfectly stable country (when it came to war time anyway) until al Qaeda and the like decided to attack our nation, not only in 2001 (don't try to use the 9/11 was an inside job *****, really not in the mood), but in 93, and also in 98 against the US embassy? And yes, I know who gave them and the taliban their weapons to fight off the soviets, the US. It was a mistake, clearly. But did we do it with the intention of them attacking us and fighting us twenty something years later with our own technology that we provided to them? No. Was it foolish? Yes.Besides, how many times are you going to throw rocks at a sleeping bear before it gets pissed off enough to wake up and beat the ***** out of you? Maybe that isn't the best example, but if anyone initiated war, it was al Qaeda. And obviously this is a pointless argument, neither one of us is going to change the others mind, so I'm done. I just seriously wish people like yourself, who seem intelligent and rational and probably actually a pretty decent person, weren't blinded by stupid things such as this.

I'm not so sure this statement is true in a large enough market. All China could do is buy more USD, sell more USD, or do nothing. Each of these three choices has a different outcome for us and China gets to chose which of these it will pick. I guess what ruins that statement is that the bank has the option of making the billion they owe you worthless by simply producing a trillion dollars and making that billion insignificant. |
